There used to be a convenience store off the corner of MacGregor and Scott street near the University of Houston. It was one of the first places I went to with a death metal guitar player on the hottest day an 18 year old could imagine.

Included here are reflections, works inspired by and about Houston by people who’ve done exactly that. We hope it encourages you to think about your own take on the city and the pieces of it that you’ve carved out for yourself.

The afternoon was pretty tame and typical. The Houston humidity was relatively intense with water practically rolling down your lungs.

If you look hard enough on the internet, you can still see remnants of a time long past.

At the edge of Navigation Blvd, Wonky Power Records produced a show and Parker Luis served me some vodka.

It's been 10 years since I left the Houston music scene. Montrose has gentrified and the traffic is insane.
