In 2009 I purchased my first iPhone and every other year after I've purchased a new phone. The circuits inside these devices need to be mined and refined in order to mass produce these devices for the world. That lithium battery... probably mined somewhere in Latin America. Those gold & silver semiconductor lines inside your chipset... maybe Africa? There are global metals inside your phone.

ProShares Ultra Semiconductors (USD) is an index designed to measure the stock performance of U.S. companies in the semiconductors sub-sector. The top two holdings @TOP are NVDA and AVGO. The PE ratio is 53.16 and a beta of 3.46 which indicates high volatility (beta of 1 signals the stock is inline with the market)

ProShares Ultra Semiconductors (USD)

Something to make note of for the next major phase of the trade war... semiconductors are the new weapon of choice for governments. USD dropped to $25.13 low in 2025 so far only to return with a vengeance at $94.10. That would have been almost a 4x return if I had optics on this stock at the time.
